Welcome to my website! I am Assistant Professor in Cellular and Circuit Neuroscience in the Cellular and Computational Neuroscience Group of Helmut Kessels at the Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences, University of Amsterdam. Previously I was working as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow in the lab of Michael Häusser at University College London, and before that as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Sam Wang at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University.

My main research interests are neuronal mechanisms underlying behavior, including playful behaviours such as  tickling. Sometimes I study human cannibalism with Michael Brecht. For recent and upcoming events, have a look at the News page. Information about publications, teaching, and outreach can be found at the relevant pages. If you have any questions or remarks, please don't hesitate to contact me. You can also get in touch via Twitter!
